Free Science Thursday Program Examines Lake Wingra

The family oriented Free Science Thursday program continues this Thursday (August 15, 2013) from 6-7 pm at Wingra Boats with a look at pollutants that harm waterfowl.    The ten-week program on the shore of Lake Wingra in Wingra Park has run since June 13 and ends August 22 with a program called “Going Batty” that examines “cool facts about bats.”

The free science program, funded by Wingra Boats and the Dudgeon-Monroe Neighborhood Association (DMNA), flows from a science teacher workshop called, Wingra Watershed Field Experience, held in May.

Check out the program this Thursday and bask in a pleasant late-summer evening on or in  Lake Wingra, one of Madison’s treasures.   Before or after, have a picnic or cookout at Wingra Park.
