Free Science Thursdays on Lake Wingra

Come explore Lake Wingra during free science workshops every Thursday at the Wingra Boat House (on the shores of Lake Wingra in Wingra Park, of course) from 6 to 7pm. Sponsored by Wingra Boats and  Wingra Watershed Field Experience, the Thursday night sessions began June 2 and continue through August 11.

If you have not spent a summer evening in Wingra Park with friends, family and a picnic basket, you have missed one of Madison’s great pleasures.  Free science Thursdays are a good excuse to see how good a summer evening on Lake Wingra is.

Called, Exploring Lake Wingra, this series of fun, field exercises by area teachers covers topics from bird and invertebrate identification, to water quality, turtles, fish and local geology.  It’s all free and designed for kids and family.
